governista (noun) Pronunciation: /ɡʌv-əˈnɪs-tə/ Definition: A person who champions, practises, or promotes good governance. Origin: Blend of governance + the Italian/Spanish suffix -ista, meaning “one who supports or practices” (as in barista, fashionista). Coined to celebrate those who make good governance look effortless — or at least mildly satisfying. A governista is a champion of planning and policy, a defender of good process and a warrior for well-run meetings.
