sukayo (noun): A totalizing state of internal and external dystopia marked by alienation, despair, repression, sexual and political frustration, and the intuitive sense of living inside an inescapable, malignant system. Sukayo includes not only the experience of this condition but also the inability to articulate it, the sense that language itself is complicit in concealing it. Like standing on an island that turns out to be a living monster, Sukayo is the dread of realizing the foundation of your reality is hostile.
