Definition: Trenting (verb) /ˈtrent·iŋ/ The act of asserting unnecessary authority or making patronizing judgments — often under the guise of “safety” or “rules” — especially toward people simply trying to enjoy themselves. Usually performed by someone in a minor position of power, like a security guard or hall monitor, who thinks they’re in an action movie.
