Trust their actions, not their words. If a person says they'll do something & their actions do not match what they say, That is a lie. If they do that,over & over again & they actively work against what they said: That is a pattern of lies,or: Manipulation. Furthermore: If that person is confronted about a lie, & say anything along the lines of: "I never said that", that is Gaslighting. Trust their actions, not their words. This rule works for all people in power: Politicians,businessmen,salesmen,conmen & pathological liars of any kind
