The art of subtly reminding someone to do something for you—like give you money, apologize, or follow through on a promise—without ever directly asking. Usually done through casual behavior, visual cues, or routine actions that nudge the other person’s memory while making you look completely innocent. Origin: From the move of pulling out your wallet in front of someone who “forgot” to give you birthday money—making them remember, and think it was their own idea.
