/ˈæ-leks/ The boy you’ll never forget. The one with the warmest hands and the softest, most gorgeous brown eyes that somehow see all the way through you — even the parts you hide. He’ll make you feel safe just by standing next to you, and ruin you for anyone else with the way he says your name like it’s a secret. Probably says things like “I missed you so much” into your neck when he hugs you, and kisses your forehead like he’s afraid of losing you. The boy who made you believe in past lives. Because how else could you explain how familiar it felt to fall for him? The soft voice. The way he looked at you like you were the only thing in the world that made sense. The way he always made sure you were okay — physically, emotionally, spiritually. Even when he didn’t know how to say it. Even when he didn’t say anything at all. The storm shelter. He held your face like a question. Hugged you like an answer. He was warm skin and safe hands, soft glances and quiet laughter. The boy who stayed up with you, who kissed your head, who whispered “I missed you” like a confession. He might’ve closed off sometimes, might’ve shut down when it got hard, but deep down? He was made for love. And he loved you. Still showing up in your dreams. Still lingering in your hair. Still the first person you’d tell if something big happened.
