A German thing is something that is complicated in a way that doesn't make sense. And When Germans start it explaining, you get lost because they are talking something in a way that they believe it's smart and clever you need just to think hard to grasp it but in reality they are just shitting around. There are synonyms, too: German thing = Beurocracy, German thing = "Scientific" paper writing to get funds German thing = online meetings, at least 5 meetings per day, when no one really knows why they do that German thing = no one's responsibility A German thing can be generalized and can be used to describe unclear/don't get your head around thing Stay away from being caught in it, mate, pretty shitty thing!
