Approximately two millennia ago, Colonizers, Occupiers, and Oppressors deliberately sought to erase indigenous Jewish people from their homelands in Israel/Judah. Rather than simply renaming the region, the Empire chose to rename it after the Philistines, who had ceased to exist five centuries prior, spelling it "Palestina," or as it was eventually anglicized, Palestine. So, the "Palestinians" are just Israelis under their Colonizer name. But does that mean the "Free Palestine" movement means freeing Israel? No. Just over 100 years ago, "Palestinian" was coined to refer to other Colonizers and Occupiers -- who now accuse the indigenous people of genocide!
