The Harut Effect is a social-psychological phenomenon where a person says “You’re right,” while internally disagreeing. Sometimes it’s strategic or sarcastic, and other times it's reflexive — even unconscious. In some cases, the speaker isn’t aware of the contradiction between their words and their actual thoughts.
