(1) A sudden and confusing bait-and-switch, especially in personal or professional relationships, where someone acts warm, supportive, or friendly—then out of nowhere flips and treats you like the villain. Most often associated with Midwestern passive aggression, particularly Indiana. (2) That moment when you realize someone’s been harboring secret resentment, and instead of communicating it like an adult, they pull a 180 and make you out to be the problem.
