To ‘Hinge it’ is to be out of control on recreational drugs. The phrase was coined in Carterton, Oxfordshire in the United Kingdom in the early 1990’s and has been used by Ravers and Clubbers in Oxfordshire ever since. The term ‘Hinge it’ was first used after a young man was observed being so out of it that he thought that he had hinges in his arms and legs. He is ‘hinging it’ they said.
