One of my best friends, and honestly, one of the safest people I know. He listens—really listens—like every word matters, even the messy ones I don’t quite know how to say. He never makes me feel silly for rambling or overthinking, or being too much. With him, I never feel like I have to shrink myself or hide the weird, quiet parts. He’s kind in the softest ways—like remembering the tiniest things I’ve said or making me laugh without even trying. Somehow, even over text, he always knows how I’m feeling, even if I haven't said a word. He’ll send something random or funny right when I need it, or just say, “Are you okay?” and somehow it’s always at the exact right moment. It’s like he reads between the lines of what I’m not saying, and still shows up exactly how I need him to. Like he can hear the silence between my words. I trust him more than I thought I could trust someone, and that feels like something rare. Like he’s not just my friend, but a soft place to land when the world gets loud.
