Toxic pacifism refers to the excessive or misguided promotion of peace and non-confrontation in ways that ultimately enable harm, injustice, or abuse. It involves avoiding conflict or discomfort at all costs—even when confrontation is necessary to address wrongdoing, protect the vulnerable, or seek justice. Toxic pacifism often masks itself as virtue but can result in the silencing of victims, the protection of oppressors, or the perpetuation of harmful systems by prioritizing harmony over accountability.
