After seeing the success of John Backflip and later William Frontflip in the early 14th century, Maximus Sideflip got inspired and performed the first Sideflip in 1334. Later in 1336 while performing in front of a crowd he was accused of using witchcraft which he had allegedly learnt from John Backflip while he was in exile. Rumor has it that He was trying to copy the Backflip but he was terrible at directions so he accidentally invented the Sideflip.
