Trumpspringa (noun): A period of national chaos where a democracy flirts with authoritarianism, corruption, and conspiracy-fueled lunacy—only to realize (hopefully) that things like laws, facts, and functioning institutions were actually pretty nice. Inspired by Amish Rumspringa, but instead of teens testing out Red Bull and Wi-Fi, it’s a whole country test-driving fascism before deciding whether to commit to democracy or keep going full KGB Mad Max Thunder Dome.
