Calling something "cat", as in "That's cat - That was cat" etc, is a pejorative term. It means that something is bad, annoying, or negative in general. And can be interchanged for the words "bullshit", "crap", "awful", and many more! Doing a little bit of research, I believe it is originally an old Irish saying, or Irish slang. "Cat and cat malogen” as in “That’s cat or that’s cat malogen altogether.” It means that is very bad or terrible altogether. " - From Irishcentral.com
