An irrational belief held by Americans that the U.S. is superior to other nations, particularly European countries, despite evidence of high crime rates and mass poverty levels, where 75+ million citizens cannot afford basic living costs like rent, groceries, healthcare, yet still defend the nation emotionally to save face and cope. This can also apply to any western country with high cost of living that does not provide basic needs for its citizens such as Canada or the UK.
