The beginning “scur” comes from Latin “sacrum” which means holy, and curmudgeon is a naughty old person (in this case old is being used ironically)- so scurmudgeon is something that is both good and bad at the same time. Like curmudgeon but specifically is for a kitten/cat that is naughty. It’s a nickname for something that is just so cute but also naughty and you want a name for them that sounds old and archaic.
