A substance (also known as Ethanol , Ethyl alcohol, Grain alcohol) that is naturally produced from fermentation of sugars using yeast in the right environment. Alcohol is an intoxicating chemical that is found in alcoholic beverages, but has uses as an industrial solvent; a fuel additive or as a fuel on its own; has disinfectant properties in higher concentrations; is a useful cleaning solvent. Don't worry! alcohol is safe to consume in moderation if it's food grade (as most of you probably know), but it is possible to overdose on alcohol in much larger amounts and it isn't too good for you if you drink it excessively.
