A brand of queer "activism" centered around the ideals and struggles of primarily white gays and white non-binary people. While not outright exclusive, its failure to be actively anti-racist, to consider queer people of colour, and its preoccupation with western standards and the problems faced by the "average white queer person"; is often alienating to queer people of colour, crip queer people, trans people of colour, and queer people belonging to religious or cultural minorities. However they [will] defy any criticism on not being inclusive by tokenism and thus referring to the one or two people of colour in their group.

Their actions might contradict their [performative] ideals and values, often because they do not want to give up their own platform or status for a person of colour. Furthermore they actively participate in tokenism and sometimes downplay racism. Just like with western homonationalism, there is still a strong desire to assimilate to the [heteronormative] patriarchy and to claim space in hetero-dominant spaces.
