(adj.) 1. characterized by covertly manipulative behavior of feigning victimhood in mixed company and denying any personal wrongoding while blaming others in order to save face and reputation. 2. performing a delusional self-image of innocence for an audience in order to avoid recrimination or critique by deflecting attention away from other narratives. 3. projecting a deceptive image of benevolence to an audience in order to avoid remorse or guilt by disclaiming personal responsibility for negative impacts on the wellbeing of others. 4. displaying any such pathological self-serving tactical behaviors in order to obscure or invalidate any source of contradiction by disqualifying that source through vague declarations, such as gaslighting, repetition, mirroring, thought-stopping, accusations of guilt, passive-aggressive threats, inducing of fear, enabling dependency, demonization, deploying fallacy, appeal to the mob, lifestyle in/validation, singling out, etc.
