This term consists of the English "gulp" and the Japanese words similar in spelling and sound ソーダ "sōda" (soda) and ソード "sōdo" (sword). In my understanding, it sounds like when you read a book, watch a movie, and, in principle, do something new, at first it was as if you drank soda, enjoying the taste. But then everything goes almost the worst way, it hurts like you swallowed a sword. But you keep going anyway, because you like it, and you can't give up the story of these characters and themselves. I think it could be synonymous with obsession. (this is my project work, which I have to hand over in two weeks. I would be very glad if you could help to promote this slang expression a little bit, awesome users:)).
