The phenomenon where a creative work designed to represent and/or celebrate a minority is hated by said minority for being stereotypical and degrading. This effect is named after the Disney Channel animated series "Primos", which got a great deal of backlash for containing negative stereotypes and incorrect Spanish. The opposite is the Speedy Gonzales effect, named after Speedy Gonzales, the Looney Tunes character who is both criticized for being a Mexican stereotype, and beloved for being a heroic, quick-witted, and lovable cultural icon by Latin-Americans.
