When people wear workwear to attempt to copy the appearance of a blue collar worker. This can be seen in the craze for stanley cups, carhartt beanies, and such. This is sometimes a form of “yassification”. This makes these brands reduce their quality for the increased sales while workers suffer. The worst example of this is people on tiktok “distressing” carhartt jackets by sanding the material and creating rips to give the appearance of a well worked in jacket.
