This speech took place in Washington D.C. at the Lincoln memorial, it is one of the most famous speeches that exists. The speech was shared at a pivotal moment in history, during the civil rights era. The reason this speech has reached so many, is because society began to have an understanding of the focus and goals of the movement being expressed by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. I think everyone who witnessed this speech was impacted by the power behind the words. Whether people who were there in real time, or those who watched after the fact. Especially people who personally experienced racism and inequalities in this country, I believe felt the impact of what was being expressed that day. I think what makes this speech so meaningful is the perspective of the speaker, as he is conveying his idea of what the future could look like. He does this, while at the same time reminding the audience of the present events taking place. He stood confidently and spoke clearly throughout the whole speech.
