Verb. A neo-literary term. The societally detrimental act of giving traits that fall short of classical human virtues to someone portrayed as intrinsically human. I.e., typically protagonist fictional characters portrayed as lacking beneficial human emotions, like empathy - and painted in a manner that makes their character appealing despite this negative lack.
