plot armor is when a scriptwriter/author/anyone composing a story is clearly keeping a certain character/idea alive despite many situations where said thing would've perished given normal circumstances and logic. Normally it's because it's a main character and/or important further in the story and/or if said character is the author's favorite. Alternatively, the term is often used in real life to refer to a person/thing that miraculously survived a situation that would otherwise prove harmful/fatal
