A practice of military online troop trolls in cyber hybrid warfare whereby grassroots movements are triggered in another country to promote a foreign agenda, destabilize domestic politics, or simply to instill chaos with no particular aim. Example: Russia conducted a cyber operation focused on asphalting, i.e., creating hundreds of social media groups and accounts which grew in size with actual profiles following those accounts, and organized protests amid election campaigns in foreign countries to destabalize the political discourse and polarize the population. This practice has been coined as Asphalting. Asphalting is the contemporary version of Divide and Conquer.
