The stubborn refusal to give into the ever-growing plague of phone apps, based on an enlightened understanding of their redundant, siloed, and often privacy-invading nature. Used to describe someone who actively rebels against the tsunami of bloatware, refuses to be another sheep in the herd of app redundancy, and generally believes that smartphones were better when they weren't weighed down by a million "essential" apps. Note: Appstinate individuals may experience higher levels of battery life, reduced screen time, and a smug sense of superiority when hearing complaints about storage space. Side effects may include missing out on fleeting app trends that nobody remembers after two weeks.
