The feeling of discomfort and awkwardness when someone is attracted to you but you don’t reciprocate those feelings. These feelings can arise for a number of reasons: - Empathy and Guilt: You might feel for the other person, knowing that rejection can hurt. There's a level of guilt involved in not being able to return someone's affection, even if it's beyond your control. - Unwanted Attention: The awareness that someone is observing or thinking about you in a romantic or physical way, especially when you don’t feel the same, can make you feel uncomfortable. - Fear of Confrontation: The possibility of having to confront the situation and potentially hurt someone's feelings can be daunting. - Dread: The possibility that they will try to interact with you and you will politely go along with it as you don't want to hurt their feelings.
