The historical homeland of the Jews, now called Israel. The name originated from the Romans, who forced it upon the Jews as punishment for the uprising of Simon Bar Kokhba lasting from 132 CE. - 136 CE. The name was later used by the British while dividing up the Middle East with other world powers.
