A gigachad is an internet meme that refers to an extremely attractive and muscular man. The term is a portmanteau of "giga", meaning "extremely large", and "chad", a slang term for a physically attractive and confident man. The original gigachad meme originated in 2017 on the 4chan /pol/ board, where an anonymous user posted a photoshopped image of a Russian model named Ernest Khalimov. The image depicted Khalimov with an extremely large jawline, chiseled cheekbones, and a muscular physique. The post quickly went viral, and the term "gigachad" became associated with Khalimov's image. In the years since, the gigachad meme has been used in a variety of contexts. It is often used to describe men who are seen as being at the top of the male hierarchy, in terms of both physical attractiveness and social status. The meme can also be used in a more ironic or satirical way, to poke fun at the idea of the perfect male specimen. The qualities of a gigachad are typically: Extremely muscular and athletic Tall and well-proportioned Handsome and symmetrical features Confident and outgoing personality High social status and wealth While the gigachad meme is often used in a humorous way, it can also be seen as a reflection of some of the unrealistic expectations that are placed on men in terms of their physical appearance and social success, Gigachads are also know to despise femboys/furries and like to smash zoophiles heads on his muscles.
