The term used to refer to the combination of ascii characters of a space, then a dash, then a space. This combines the word 'space' (referring to the ascii character space) and 'dash' referring to a '-' Written " - " This character combination is frequently used to separate two ideas or phrases that are in common for instance a Title and an Author or a Name and a Position. An example is Title of a Book - Author Name. The 'spash' is the " - " (space, dash, space) between the two ideas.
