Overlapping (like a Venn diagram) dual monogamous relationships. Similar in some ways to an open relationship or polyamorous, except you have two couples, each in a long-term committed monogamous relationship and then one person from each couple forms another long-term committed relationship. None of the relationships are “open.” The foundation of these relationships is love and commitment, not sex.
