There's a lot of zany answers here, but with a 20 year career in black entertainment, I can assure you: "Black People Time" is the standard usage of the 3 letters. After years of working every sort of R&B, hip-hop, jazz and gospel concert, I was familiar with the term and the realization years-ago that it was in-fact a true anomaly. The truly stunning examples of it were on Broadway shows. We used to watch in amazement while working a particularly popular/hip Broadway show with all AA actors; The show would start at 8pm promptly...and sure enough...half the audience would not saunter-in until 9-10pm! It's like...why did you even come?Lol.
