Dekhi is the way of life. It is a perfectly valid response, in place of "yes", "no", or "maybe". Dekhi is a Bengali word that translates to "let us see / let me see". A recent analysis of historical reports - done by Amar Kotha Hocche (AKH) group - showed that a response of "Dekhi" has resulted in an adverse outcome. It is usually a scapegoat word for when someone does not want to / is unable to partake in a suggested activity, due to prior commitments, or general inability to participate.
