A very obscure motion picture reference. In the movie Scent of a Woman, Al Pacino’s character Lt. Col. Frank Slade takes Charlie to the home of his brother W. R. Slade (played by Richard Venture) for a surprise visit on Thanksgiving. W. R. Slade only appears in this one scene and is only called by name twice. First when Frank calls out for him after entering the house shouting “Willie! Oh Willie!”. Secondly when Frank introduces him to Charlie as “W. R. Slade, the original bulging briefcase man”.
