To be born between 1946 and 1964 as part of the Baby Boomer generation. These people enjoyed full employment, free university, defined benefit schemes and shirked national responsibilities like conscription and looking after the environment. This generation were seen as very progressive in their youth but later became fiercely conservative to protect the enormous capital they had amassed. They achieved this through voting power as they were the largest generation that had ever existed this making it easy to bend policy of the day to their will. Ironically this generation is now against everything they enjoyed themselves in their youth like free education, welfare, defined benefits, immigration, free love and youth home ownership.
