A countryball is a country's flag placed in a ball like shape, thus creating a countryball. These drawings originate all the way back to 2009, where the british user "Falco", which was in dispute with the polish user "Wojak", went on skribble.io and drew an upside-down polish countryball for triggering purposes. Since then, the r/polandball community has been keeping this a strict tradition. The countryballs are used to represent historical conflicts, future conflicts, stereotypes and are used for a different community, the mapping community. What these guys are doimg is that they are trying to represent a alternative future (AF) or an alternative history (AH). Example : Alternate / Alternative Future of Europe (AFOE).
