Durango Mexico - Durango is Mexican state landlocked by sinaloa to the west , Chihuahua to the north, Coahuila to the north east , Zacatecas to the south East,Nayarit to the south west . Durango is a rural sparsely populated state, most common animal is the scorpion. Durango is Known for their Leatherwork includes bags, wallets, belts, cigarette cases, briefcases, books & saddles. heavily mountainous, with the Sierra Madre Occidental mountains filling over half of Durango’s territory. The city of Durango is on the foothills of the Sierra Madre Occidental Most of the economically important natural resources come from mining, including deposits of gold, silver, iron & mercury. There are also large deposits of marble also. Durango foods include venorio, which is made with pork ribs, cactus and a chile sauce, & gallina borracha (drunken hen), which requires chorizo, chicken, mezcal and sherry. Carne seca (beef jerky) is another local favorite.
