A new kind of genre that makes mainstream Gamers scared and angry because they're not able to cope with a game that makes them think differently. A term coined by Hideo Kojima to refer to his game Death Stranding. Strand type games are mainly about making connections, specially between players in an asynchronous manner. These games place combat in the backseat (if not removing them completely), making players that are used to the AAA Skinner Box shooters irrationally angry and confused.
