The action of obsessing over a transit agency's fleet of vehicles, such as buses or subway cars. Most transit fanners tend to photograph or video every niche of a transit agency and knows way too much about the agency's fleet, schedules, routes, and a collection of best "fanning spots". Transit fanners are not a hit with the agency's employees. Most notably bus drivers, heavy rail operators, track laborers, and especially the transit police.
