In my prison, a maytag was a dude, usually a junkie, who washed people’s clothes for commissary. There were usually 2-3 maytags on a pod vying for business and they would cement their reputation by stealing bleach or using peroxide toothpaste to spot scrub other inmates’ clothes. But a maytag was never the name for a person being sexually victimized, they were lower level workers in the prison economy who’d refer to themselves as The Maytag to hustle up commie washing state clothes overnight.
