The Kaurav Empire ( 421BCE - 104BCE) was an ancient dynasty on the Eastern Indus plain, modern day Punjab. The Kaurav Rashtra is believed to be one of the sixteen Mahajanapadas, 'Great Kingdoms' of the Second Urbanization in what is now south Kapurthala. The Kauravas are believed to be the royal blood of the 100 sons of the King Kuru and Queens Vahini, Shubhangani, RIneshawari and Nisharani. Any individual who adheres the surname Kaura, is assumed to be a descendent of the Kaurav throne.
