Jibanyan is a character from the anime series Yo-Kai Watch. This anime is about a boy named Nate Adams that obtains a magical watch allowing him to see Yo-Kai. Yo-Kai is a wordplay on the actual word, Youkai, which are supernatural beings in Japanese culture. Jibanyan is a red and white cat, who is very lazy. Jibanyan loves eating chocolate, even though cats really shouldn't eat it. Jibanyan has a sad backstory in which he sees his owner about to be run over by a truck (the driver was told to do this, this was no accident) but Jibanyan, or by his old name, Rudy, jumps and pushes his owner out of the way. His owner is a girl named Amy, which Rudy loves very much. Rudy gets hit by the truck, dying on impact. He becomes a ghost, or Youkai, and trains himself to destroy all trucks, for he had formed a hatred towards them. Jibanyan later becomes friends with Nate, and goes on an adventure for the rest of the series.
