Usage began as an unintended combination of the words "horrendous" and "tv channel changing" that was first put into use in 2003 and is now used to describe anything that warrants disapproval. Is also the root word from which any number of strangely abbreviated, and even sometimes, unnecessarly lengthened words are derived. Examples include: horrend, hermend, horrendelino, and hernendez. Any one of which can be used to express disapproval.
