Internet Inside Syndrome (ISS for short) is an internet phenomenon where internet cultures and social groups develop inside jokes and humor that are nonsensical to outsiders. This disparity can rift groups and individuals apart that don't share the same comedy or understanding, with the observer perceiving the group or person as low-cultured or strange. An example is a recurring joke in Stan Twitter culture about Beyoncé locking up Sia in her basement. Another is a surreal humor genre consisting of language and images violating common sense and reasoning called Gen Z Humor.
