A term women who are batting out of their league use to rationalize getting pumped and dumped, or being a side chick. A situationship is when a man does not want to commit to a woman, generally because he does not like the woman that much, is married, has a girlfriend, or is just happier being single. A man continues the situationship because he wants to continue having sex and/or feels bad and wants to let the woman down easy and phase things out gradually, so that she doesn't feel pumped and dumped, even though she was.
