Ohio is a matrix-like simulation designed to mimic the rest of the United States. It was derived from a Cold War program to create an alternate reality in case of a nuclear bombing. Upon entering Ohio, one will find themselves in a place where every town is algorithmically derived from other towns to create the most generic American reality possible. This was designed by the government so that in case of a nuclear attack, citizens could live in the Ohio simulation instead of the reality of a nuclear wasteland, but the project was abandoned when they found that Ohio was worse than a nuclear wasteland.
