“Lavender Haze” is the second single on Montgomery’s second EP “Opal 67”, which was released in December 2021. According to Montgomery, the song title was inspired by the television show Mad Men, where she'd first heard the term "lavender haze". When asked what the term means to her, Montgomery said, “Falling in love isn’t always rose coloured. It can get dark and muddied by so many emotions that come up and I feel like that’s the ‘Lavender Haze’.”
